The life and times of Ambient musician /I.T. Professional Mike Hunter

Ombient is the moniker under which Mike Hunter performs his completely improvised ambient/ drone music. Mike started his musical career playing his fathers electric bass through an old analog tape delay making strange and disturbing space/mood music. He later continued on to study the classical guitar before moving into the progressive rock genre. Once he discovered the more modern equivalent of that old analog tape delay, Ombient was born. Ombient’s music, being of a live and improvisational nature, is representative of the feeling of the moment in which it is performed and of the subtle feedback between the audience and the performer. It features guitar, processed and layered using digital looping equipment enabling a single guitar to produce symphonic levels of density.
